Strategic Planning
01. THE NEED
Port Macquarie Basketball Association is an Australian regional basketball club experiencing tremendous growth. They needed to improve efficiencies for a better transition from an all-volunteer-run community group to thinking more strategically and operating like a small business.
02. THE WORK
As a board member, I was dedicated to strategically promoting the strengths of the organization and the people involved. There was a lot of reinventing the wheel that needed to be eliminated simply by creating processes and procedures.
03. THE RESULT
In my short tenure, I helped execute the ideas, including updating the website, organizing the database, creating more accessible communication channels, developing a sponsorship program, defining brand guidelines, hiring administrative help, creating tighter budget controls and strategic planning.
